Published Research on Spiritual Skills A study published in Reflective Practice: Formation and Supervision in Ministry (vol. 32), measured how summer students in an initial unit of accredited* Clinical Pastoral Education (C.P.E.) programs in ten US hospitals grew in spiritual skills. Unpublished Research on Primary Spiritual Arenas - "The Spirituality of U.S. Pastoral Clinicians " - A 1988 doctoral (D. Min.) project surveyed over 2,000 certified professional chaplains, clinical pastoral educators and pastoral counselors regarding their convictions about spirituality and their self-assessment of how they had experienced the 35 primary spiritual arenas through the eras of their own personal and professional lives.
